Notre Dame will be without two key players in its big matchup against Miami.
According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, defensive linemen Francis Brewu and Jason Onye have been ruled doubtful after being considered questionable all week. Brewu has started all seven games for Notre Dame this season, while Onye plays 17 snaps per contest, per Thamel.
Notre Dame is looking to get some revenge against Miami. Last year, the two teams played in the season opener, and the Hurricanes won 27-24. Miami went on to play in the national championship game, while Notre Dame was one win short of clinching a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Notre Dame HC Wants a 'Loud' Atmosphere for the Miami Game
“I hope it’s so loud when we’re on defense that it doesn’t matter what Coach Ash is telling the green dot," Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman said about the atmosphere of this year's game, per Mike Singer of Blue & Gold. "It’s a challenge to our fans to be loud. I hope it’s that loud. It impacts the game. When we’re playing away in hostile environments, we have to prepare for it being so loud that you can’t hear verbal communication on the field. It impacts the offense. That’s the type of environment I hope we have in Notre Dame Stadium."
Brewu is in his first season at Notre Dame after spending the last two seasons at Pittsburgh. Through eight games this year, Brewu has notched 16 tackles, three tackles for loss, and two sacks.
Onye joined Notre Dame in 2021 but played in his first game in 2022. He has played in three games this season and posted four tackles.
