Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding shared discouraging news on Kewan Lacy, who suffered a shoulder injury against Texas on Saturday.

Golding told reporters on Monday that the star running back will not play against Auburn because of the injury. He said that Lacy's shoulder was dislocated.

"Dislocated his shoulder in the game... different injury than before. Obviously he's not going to play this week," Golding said, per The Rebel Walk. "We'll evaluate that going forward... he's still getting some MRIs... It's a different injury than he had before (prior shoulder injury)."

The 2026 season has been challenging for Lacy. After rushing for 1,567 yards and 24 touchdowns in 15 games last year, Lacy has rushed for 388 yards and five touchdowns in six games this season due to multiple injuries. After Lacy left the Texas game, sideline reporter Holly Rowe revealed the injuries he has dealt with this year.

Kewan Lacy Has Battled Multiple Injuries This Season

“Look, guys, remember he had that AC joint separation earlier this year against LSU. He had been out for a game, missed that Florida game because of that," Rowe said, per On3's Thomas Goldkamp. "He’s been battling a hamstring last week against Missouri. So a lot of different things, but you guys can see this has been a real issue for him as he’s been trying to fight through that. It is the same shoulder that he injured against LSU. He was definitely holding that when he fell to the ground right in front of us.”

Lacy joined Ole Miss last year after spending the 2024 season at Missouri. Along with having a breakout 2025 season, Lacy helped Ole Miss reach the College Football Playoff semifinals.
