ESPN College Football reported that:
"Kewan Lacy left the game with an apparent injury."
SleeperCFB also reported: "Ole Miss RB Kewan Lacy has entered the blue tent with a left arm injury."
The timing is troubling for Ole Miss. The score is tied 24-24 as of early fourth quarter, putting pressure on the Rebels to find a way back into the contest.
An injury analyst offered further concern after reviewing the circumstances surrounding Lacy's exit. The analyst said:
"The FOOSH mechanism (fall on an outstretched hand) raises concern for a potential AC joint injury, clavicle fracture, labrum tear or other shoulder injury," the analyst wrote. "Notably, Lacy has a history of injury to the same shoulder. Awaiting further updates."
These are potential injuries, not confirmed diagnoses. Ole Miss has yet to provide a definitive update on the severity of the issue in the reports available at the time of writing.
The concern is heightened by Lacy's previous shoulder problems. He injured the same shoulder during Ole Miss' September win over LSU and underwent evaluation after that game. Coach Pete Golding later said X-rays were negative, although Lacy missed subsequent action while recovering.
Ole Miss must now wait for further medical assessments. The priority will be determining whether Lacy can return or whether the injury will keep him sidelined.
