Paul Finebaum might not be with ESPN when the college football season ends in January.
On the Awful Announcing Podcast, Finebaum discussed his future with the four-letter network since his contract expires in July. Finebaum didn't say if he would like to remain with ESPN or move on to a different network.
“Yeah, I don’t know yet. The contract technically runs out in July,” Finebaum told Awful Announcing's Brandon Contes. “But I’m a college football analyst, so at the end of January, I will probably start contemplating exactly what is next. But I mean, I would be foolish to tell you, Brandon, that anybody who is in the last year of a contract doesn’t think about it. Troy Aikman thinks about it, so does everyone else. But I would also be foolish to tell you that I know what I’m going to do next.”

Finebaum is the host of "The Paul Finebaum Show," a four-hour daily program heard on ESPN Radio and aired on the SEC Network. He is also a commentator on SEC Nation and appears on multiple ESPN platforms, including First Take, Get Up, SportsCenter, and College Football Live.
“I feel pretty good about it,” Finebaum said about his relationship with ESPN. “I mean, that was one of my goals at the end of the season was to do whatever I could to keep doing my job. I mean, whether you’re friends with management or not isn’t the case. It’s how well you do your job, and I feel like I do my job pretty well."
Finebaum joined ESPN in 2013. He has been working in the sports media industry since 1978, contributing to multiple newspapers and Sports Illustrated before launching his radio show.
