Just last week Texas A&M announced Lyle Hemphill as the team's new defensive coordinator after Jay Bateman accepted the same position with the University of Kentucky.

"Hemphill and Elko share deep ties dating back to their time at Hofstra from 2006-08, when Hemphill coached the defensive backs and special teams in Elko's defense. The two later reunited at Duke University, where Hemphill served as safeties coach in 2022 before being elevated by Elko to co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach in 2023," the school said in a statement.

A few days later, the Aggies revealed yet another coaching change as their College Football Playoff showdown with Miami looms.

Earlier this month, Aggies offensive coordinator Collin Klein accepted the head coaching job at Kansas State - his alma mater.

"My family and I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to come home," Klein said in a statement. "Thank you to President [Richard] Linton and Gene Taylor for believing in us to lead the Cats into a new era. The position of head coach at Kansas State has a long legacy of service, hard work, determination, and competitive greatness that I am honored to carry forward."

Two weeks later, Texas A&M announced Holmon Wiggins as Klein's replacement.

"A new play caller on the offensive side of the ball. Holmon Wiggins has been elevated to Offensive Coordinator," the school said in a brief statement on social media.

He initially joined Elko's staff in January 2024 as the co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. The move comes just a few days before Texas A&M faces off against Miami in the playoff on Dec. 20.
