Georgia lost at home to Auburn, and one of the SEC’s most recognizable voices still isn’t ready to move off the Bulldogs.
Tim Tebow, the former Florida Gators quarterback, said on “SportsCenter” that the Georgia Bulldogs remain his top SEC team despite a 27-24 loss to the Auburn Tigers. He also warned that the league’s parity could shrink its College Football Playoff haul.
Tebow made it clear he still rates Georgia ahead of the pack.

“I would lean towards Georgia as the most complete team, but I think when you look at it there’s more parity in this league than maybe any other time in the last decade,” Tebow said.
His endorsement came with a caveat. Tebow believes any SEC program outside Arkansas and Vanderbilt can win in any week, and he warned that the conference’s chaos could cost it playoff spots.
Then he revised an earlier projection downward.
“A couple of weeks ago they were predicting six SEC teams, I think now there’s a chance that there could only be two or three because they’re beating each other up so much,” Tebow said.

The standings reflect that jumble. Georgia and Kentucky share first place in the SEC at 4-1, while the Texas Longhorns have slid to 1-2 after losing to Oklahoma and Florida by six combined points.
No College Football Playoff rankings have been released for 2026. Going by the Associated Press Top 25, the SEC would place three teams in the field: No. 5 Georgia, No. 7 Ole Miss and No. 11 Tennessee. No. 19 Texas and No. 13 Alabama would miss out.
Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs are idle before closing October against Florida in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. The Gators arrive having rebounded from two losses with a victory over Texas.
