Two NFC contenders will reportedly pursue reinforcements before the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz told former defensive back Ryan Clark that the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears are gearing up to acquire roster help in the next two weeks.
"The 49ers and Bears are two teams prepared to be very active on the trade market, and I’m expecting both teams to make some real noise," Schultz wrote when sharing a clip from his appearance on "The Pivot."

Schultz predicted a "very active" trade deadline that could feature as many as 20 deals. He's keeping an eye on San Francisco and Chicago, who are both seeking help on defense.
"Two teams I'm watching very closely: the 49ers and Bears," Schultz said. "I've heard both teams connected to several defensive players, including rushers Josh Sweat, Khalil Mack, also DeForest Buckner. Along with some names who aren't necessarily on the trade block. ... They want to be aggressive, and I'd be shocked if they don't make a move before the deadline."
The 49ers remain a prominent title contender despite the Atlanta Falcons snapping their six-game winning streak on Sunday. They rank fourth in total defense while dealing with several injuries, most notably missing superstar pass rusher Nick Bosa since Week 2.
Although they've allowed just 89.0 rushing yards per game, the 49ers have the NFL's second-worst defensive EPA per rush. A reunion with Buckner could thus make sense if the Indianapolis Colts decide to shop the Pro Bowl defensive tackle.

Chicago could also attempt to reacquire a familiar face. ESPN's Adam Schefter pitched Mack for the Bears, who improved to 5-2 with a Week 7 win over the New England Patriots.
Another edge rusher could help the Bears keep ground in a competitive NFC North and cement Ben Johnson's squad as a legitimate Super Bowl threat.
