The San Francisco 49ers secured their spot in the divisional round with Sunday night's wild card round win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Now, the No. 6 seed 49ers are preparing for next week's playoff matchup against the No. 1 seed Seattle Seahawks.
San Francisco has dealt with some serious injury issues throughout the 2025-26 NFL season, including a dislocated/fractured ankle suffered by Fred Warner in Week 6. Since then, the 49ers have been without their key defensive leader.

While this injury ended Warner's regular-season campaign, the 49ers have left the door open for the veteran linebacker to return during the team's postseason run. In fact, he was spotted working out on the sideline at practices leading up to Sunday's wild card round win over the Eagles.
Warner shared another workout video on social media Monday.

That being said, it appears the 49ers will be without Warner for at least one more game.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked about Warner's status for San Francisco's upcoming divisional round matchup against the Seahawks during his postgame press conference on Sunday evening.
“Not very high,” Shanahan said of Warner's chances to be activated.

Warner says that if it was up to him, he'd be out on the field for this coming Saturday's matchup against the Seahawks.
“I’m ready whenever they’re ready,” Warner said. “There’s some T’s that have got to be crossed, I’s that have got to be dotted. Unfortunately, if it were just up to me, I’d be out there this weekend, but it’s unfortunately not that way. I’ve got to make sure I’m checking all the boxes, and everybody has to give me the OK before they let me go out there.
“But I’m pushing, man. I’m training hard. I’m back doing full football drills and everything, so time will tell. We’ve got to pull the win off first.”
Update: The 49ers opened Warner's practice window on Tuesday. The team hopes he can return to the field for the NFC Championship game, if they advance past the Seahawks this weekend.
