Maybe it was the blinding lights of Paris, but something distracted the Pittsburgh Steelers offense according to their quarterback Aaron Rodgers following their tight 16-10 win over the New Orleans Saints in the City of Love on Sunday.
Okay, so the Steelers’ defense was the star of the show while their offense couldn’t really finish drives, and Rodgers wanted to point that out following the win.
“I don’t think we played very good on offense today,” Rodgers said to ESPN broadcaster Molly McGrath. “Credit to their defense, but we have a lot to work on. They’re a 2-5 team, we’re a 5-2 team but we’re not playing as well as we can at this point.

“I thought our defense was obviously playing great, it was a disjointed game with the length of the possessions but we were really bad in the red zone, we gotta clean that up. We had too many penalties, especially 15-yard penalties. However, it is hard to win in this league – we traveled over (to Paris) on Thursday night, Friday, guys were tired, so it was a gutsy win for us.”
The defense was pesky to Saints quarterback Tyer Shough early on as Patrick Queen almost picked him off on the team’s first drive.
They continued to bully New Orleans throughout, especially during the fourth quarter when the Saints saw an opportunity to take their first lead of the game but was shut down.
The Steelers take on the Cleveland Browns next Sunday.
