Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty and Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders were two of the most-talked-about players in the 2025 NFL draft class.

Most scouts and analysts expected both to be early first-round picks, and while that was true for Jeanty, who was picked sixth overall, Sanders actually experienced arguably the worst draft fall of all time, sliding to the 144th overall pick in Round 5.

While their careers have taken divergent paths so far — Jeanty has received steady playing time since Week 1, on the other hand, Sanders took his first NFL snaps in Week 11’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens — NFL fans are likely thrilled to get to see both talented rookies share the field on Sunday.

Sanders will be making his first NFL start, and though Jeanty is admittedly excited for him for getting that opportunity, he also sent Sanders a warning that the Raiders aren’t going to take it easy on him.

“I got to know him pretty well,” Jeanty told reporters on Wednesday. “[I am] excited for him. [It] should be a great opportunity for him, but I know my defense is going to come ready to attack him. He better be ready.”

In his lone appearance last week, Sanders played like a rookie. He completed just 4 of 16 passes for 47 yards with an interception.

But head coach Kevin Stefanski made it a point to acknowledge that Sanders had taken zero reps with the first-team offense leading up to that game. Sanders has taken all the first-team reps in practice this week, and the expectation is that he will look more prepared in Week 12.

Jeanty, on the other hand, has been one of the focal points of his team’s offense.

The 21-year-old RB has started all 10 of the Raiders’ games this season, and he leads the team with 554 yards rushing and four touchdowns. He’s also added 29 catches on 38 targets for 163 yards and three more scores through the air.
