Late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 13-11 loss to the Denver Broncos, the Jets had a chance to attempt what could have been a game-winning 61-yard field goal with Nick Folk. Folk was 3-for-3 on the day with a long of 52.
Glenn instead, decided to trust an offensive line that had already allowed eight sacks to protect long enough for the offense to convert a fourth-and-eight. The attempt was unsuccessful, and Fields was sacked for the ninth and final time of the game.
The decision to try and pick up nine yards rather than attempting a go-ahead field goal was a bit of a brain scratcher. Trusting an atrocious offensive line rather than a kicker that was perfect on the day was an interesting choice to say the least. The question decision came after Glenn had a bizarre moment of clock management to end the first half.
With the loss, New York fell to 0-6 on the season and will have to wait another week for its first win. The next four games for the Jets will come against the Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots. A loss in each of those four games could result in Glenn being fired prior to the end of the season in just his first season.
