Williams didn't play in the Chicago Bears' preseason opener last week against the Houston Texans, but sure made his mark in his debut against the Bills. Williams finished the game by going 4-for-7 and throwing for 95 yards. He also included one rushing attempt that got him 13 yards on the field.

We saw some magic by Williams, including this little flick to running back D'Andre Swift for a massive gain. The rookie showed off his improvising skillset when being pressured in the pocket.
Williams showed off his versatility by throwing on the run. He connected with his receiver in just the right spot despite the difficulty of the pass.
But arguably the most impressive throw by the rookie came on his first completion of the day. He fit the ball into a tight window against the defense, showing off impressive footwork in the pocket beforehand.
The Bears have been waiting for this moment since they selected Williams back in April. Williams has been one of the more highly-touted prospects to enter the NFL in recent memory and his skillset was on full display in a small sample size.
He has the ability to make all the throws on the field, which is part of the reason why Chicago and other teams were so high on him during the draft process. Williams dominated in college, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2022 with the USC Trojans.
The Bears have done everything that they can to put Williams into a great spot, giving him a ton of offensive weapons. The team already had wide receiver D.J. Moore but acquired veteran star wide-out Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers as well this offseason.

In addition, Chicago also drafted rookie wide receiver Rome Adunze from the University of Washington with the No. 9 overall pick. Adunze and Williams headlined the draft class for the Bears, giving Chicago hope for the future.
Even as a rookie signal caller, Williams is expected to help the Bears contend in the NFC North, showing the level of hype that surrounds him. There could be a learning curve for Williams as the season goes on, but he has all the tools to succeed.
