All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons wasted no time making his presence known in his first game with the Chicago Bears, which has Bears legend Brian Urlacher convinced that the hefty price tag to acquire Simmons was well worth it.

Acquiring Simmons was essentially a declaration from the Bears that they are going all in on contending for a Super Bowl this year, sending multiple first-round picks for the Tennessee Titans to acquire him.

Simmons played a massive role in his first game for the Bears, recording six tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack in a 34-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

Brian Urlacher got a good view of Simmons' impact on the game. The Hall of Fame linebacker served as a guest on the "Manningcast" alternate broadcast of Monday's game, sharing plenty of compliments for the newest Chicago Bear on the broadcast.

"Immediate impact," said Urlacher. "The first play of the game, I watched him versus the guards. The get-off is unbelievable. He just walks out and gets off the block. Two first-round picks for the Bears was a steal in my opinion to get this guy. He's a great player. And he is going to help their defense for the rest of the season."

Given the hefty price tag the Bears spent for Simmons, how far they ultimately go this season will likely be the biggest determining factor as to whether they truly won this trade with the Titans.

That being said, it sure seems like the addition of Simmons has already been an impactful one that puts the Bears squarely amongst the elite teams in the NFC.

Simmons and the Bears will look to continue their positive momentum in Week 9 when they return home to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are riding a two-game winning streak of their own coming into the game.
