The Cincinnati Bengals fell 39-38 to the New York Jets at Paycor Stadium on Sunday after the Jets scored 23 fourth-quarter points to erase a 31-16 deficit and win on a late touchdown pass from running back Breece Hall to tight end Mason Taylor.

Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco completed 21 of 34 passes for 223 yards with two passing touchdowns and added a 1-yard rushing touchdown early in the contest; wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase led all receivers with 12 catches for 91 yards.

Flacco's two passing TDs in Cincinnati marked his second straight game with multiple passing touchdowns since the Bengals acquired him, and at age 40, he became the oldest player in Bengals history to score a touchdown, surpassing Terrell Owens' 36-year mark in 2010.

More impressively, Flacco also became the first player aged 40-plus with back-to-back games of multiple pass touchdowns and a 10-yard run since Doug Flutie back in 2003 with the San Diego Chargers (now Los Angeles Chargers).

A first-round pick in 2008 (No. 18 overall), Super Bowl XLVII champion and Super Bowl MVP, Flacco entered the NFL as a starter for the Baltimore Ravens and has since played for seven different teams across an 18-season NFL career.

Over that span, he has thrown for 47,296 career passing yards (14th all-time) and 266 passing touchdowns (21st all-time).

Flacco was traded to the Bengals on Oct. 7 in a deal that sent a 2026 sixth-round draft pick to the Cleveland Browns for Flacco and swapped late-round picks.

Flacco has produced some vintage performances since joining the Bengals, specifically in his second start in their Thursday-night win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 16, when he threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions.

He followed that up with Sunday's effort versus the Jets, and now across three games as the Bengals' starting QB, he has 784 passing yards, seven passing TDs, and zero interceptions, completing 64.3% of his passes with a 100.1 passer rating.

More importantly, Flacco has helped the Bengals stay in contention for the AFC North division title, something that seemed improbable when franchise QB Joe Burrow went down with an injury early in the season.

Cincinnati currently sits at 3-5 after the loss, but just two games back of the division-leading Steelers, with a Week 9 matchup against the Chicago Bears next on deck, followed by a Week 10 bye.
