The Buffalo Bills were the league's only undefeated team for a brief few hours, but their 23-20 loss to the New England Patriots on "Sunday Night Football" in Week 5 shows they're not invincible. However, with the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals all under .500, the Bills should be a favorite to win the AFC.

2024 NFL MVP quarterback Josh Allen is the MVP race this season, throwing for 1,217 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions. His 70.4 percent completion rate is on pace to be a career high. He's also added 212 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

The Bills could make Allen's life a little easier before the trade deadline on Nov. 4. Buffalo doesn't have a true No. 1 wide receiver, as tight end Dalton Kincaid leads the team in receiving with 287 yards and three touchdowns on 20 receptions.

Alex Kay of Bleacher Report named disgruntled Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown as a potential target for the Bills. Brown has been frustrated about his limited role on the Eagles, and he'd be an immediate top target for Allen in Buffalo. Like the Eagles, the Bills are expected to be contenders for the postseason.

"The Buffalo Bills make for an intriguing landing spot," Kay wrote. "They boast the same 4-1 record as Philadelphia and have an MVP quarterback in Josh Allen leading their offense, but the team still lacks a true No. 1 wideout who can take the passing game to another level.

"While slot wideout Khalil Shakir (22/235/2) and X receiver Keon Coleman (21/226/2) have played their roles adequately, tight end Dalton Kincaid leads Buffalo in receiving yardage (287) and receiving touchdowns (three). There's clearly room for a star like Brown to come in and take over as Allen's top target down the stretch."

Kay believes the Bills would have to give an "early" Day 2 draft pick and a conditional 2027 draft pick for Brown.

Brown signed a three-year contract extension in 2024 worth $96 million, with $84 million guaranteed. He has 19 receptions for 194 yards and one touchdown through the first five games. He has 1,000-plus yards receiving in five of his first six seasons in the league.

Teams have inquired about interest in Brown this fall. However, Philadelphia has no plans to trade Brown, even if both sides are frustrated with the results on offense during the first five games. The trade would also be a risk for the Bills, who had issues with Stefon Diggs wanting his fair share of targets from Allen when he was in Buffalo.

The trade may not occur before the November deadline. However, league sources believe the Eagles are more open to making a trade in the offseason. Bills fans should keep this idea on their radar for the spring.
