The Denver Broncos are trying to load up for another run at the Super Bowl as they sit in first place in the AFC West at 6-2, and it looks like they aren't leaving any stone unturned.

"The Cardinals made it very clear they have zero intention of trading McBride," wrote Schefter, however.

McBride, a second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, would have been quite the acquisition for the Broncos as he has quickly established himself as one of the best tight ends in the league with 413 catches for 4,019 yards and 22 touchdowns in his career.

However, the Broncos willingness to go big-name hunting at the position hints they could likely come away with another playmaker before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET trade deadline.

The Broncos tight end room currently consists of Evan Engram, Adam Trautman, Nate Adkins and Dallen Bentley, who have combined for just 23 catches for 220 yards and four touchdowns through the first eight weeks of the season.

It remains to be seen which tight ends around the league could be on the move, but Denver isn't trying to waste its opportunity to take advantage of its strong start to the year.

The Broncos are scheduled to take on the Carolina Panthers in Week 9.
