The Cleveland Browns, yet again, have shown all the makings of being a total dumpster fire this year as the NFL regular season enters Week 2.

The Browns not only were crushed in Week 1 vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars, 34-10, but the negative feedback over the team's decision to make Deshaun Watson its starting quarterback again has continued to grow.

Cleveland has been linked heavily to Texas quarterback Arch Manning, the presumed No. 1 overall picking the 2027 draft, and if the Browns do indeed land the 22-year-old signal caller, it's fair to wonder if Todd Monken will be the team's head coach.

Monken is in his first year at the helm, but his future could depend on just how much of a disaster the 2026 campaign ends up being in Cleveland.

ESPN Cleveland's Tony Rizzo said during Friday's episode of "The Really Big Show" that he's heard that Browns owner Jimmy Haslam may still be targeting former college football coaching legend Nick Saban.

Rizzo added that Saban "wouldn't coach" again, but could have some other position with the organization.

Saban has been serving as an analyst for ESPN's "College GameDay" since leaving the Alabama sidelines following the Crimson Tide's overtime loss to Michigan in the 2024 College Football Playoff semifinal.

Bringing him in to mentor Manning is quite the intriguing possibility, and one that would surely fire up a fanbase that's had to suffer through one of the worst runs of starting quarterbacks in NFL history.

The 74-year-old has said multiple times since then that he has no intention of returning to coaching.

For now, the Browns-Saban chatter is just rumors, but as Cleveland's 2026 season continues, the talk will surely grow.
