Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders had one of the more interesting rookie seasons a quarterback has had in recent memory.
After being pegged as a top-five pick for most of his final year in college, the son of Deion Sanders cratered down draft boards and got picked in the fifth round by the Browns. He began the year on the bench as a third-stringer behind Joe Flacco and another 2025 NFL Draft rookie, Dillon Gabriel of Oregon.
Yet, through some luck, injuries, and trades, Sanders landed the starting job and became the first Browns QB to win their rookie debut with the franchise in over 20 years.

Sanders then had another slide to end his first year, but through more divine circumstances (and lots of players declining), he made it to the Pro Bowl.
He spoke to Kay Adams on her show "Up & Adams" before Tuesday's Pro Bowl Games to go over his rookie campaign and what he's learned heading into his sophomore season.

"Whenever I feel like me, then everything works out," he said. "I've proven to myself, I'm able to dominate the league."
Sanders finished his first season with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
The notion that he's shown he can "dominate" the league did not sit well with NFL fans around the world, who were already upset that the Browns QB made it to the Pro Bowl in the first place.
Other fans weren't as harsh, but still disagreed with the sentiment.
While Sanders had fun on Tuesday night in the flag football competition, throwing multiple touchdowns, it wasn't all good news on the day.
In his introductory press conference, new head coach Todd Monken did not confirm that Sanders would keep his starting job heading into 2026, saying the position is still undecided.
