The Buffalo Bills franchise is built around one man: Josh Allen.
While everything else on the roster can change for the Bills next season, the one assured pillar (unless he demands a trade) is the reigning MVP of the league and one of the best quarterbacks on the planet.
But when it comes to making decisions in Buffalo, there's one man who trumps Allen, and that's the team owner Terry Pegula.

On Wednesday, Pegula spoke publicly for the first time since the firing of the longtime head coach Sean McDermott.
Pegula stood behind his decision and said that the loss to the Denver Broncos on the road was a key factor in the removal of McDermott from the team. In an AFC postseason without Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, or Joe Burrow, the Bills were given the narrative that this was "their one shot" to reach the Super Bowl.
Now, Allen and Pegula will have to watch either sophomore QB Drake Maye make it with the New England Patriots or Jarrett Stidham miraculously lead the Broncos to the title game.

Although Pegula views Allen as the crucial piece to his team's future success, he admitted that when it came to McDermott, that was his call and his alone.
McDermott is the only head coach Allen has had since being drafted in 2018, and the change will impact his future in Buffalo one way or another.
Even though Pegula was the ultimate decision-maker and did not consult his superstar QB, the Bills owner said he spoke privately with Allen following the dismissal, but that conversation would remain only between the two of them.
