Veteran safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills in March, but Gardner-Johnson doesn't intend on leaving Buffalo until 2031, at the earliest.

"I will be a Buffalo Bill for the next five years," Gardner-Johnson said on his Ceedy8 Twitch stream from Bills training camp this week. "That's how I'm coming, chat. That's how I'm coming, [expletive]. I ain't [expletive] off. I ain't going crazy. I'm being a Buffalo Bill for the next five years."

"Super Bowls, championship, that's how I'm coming," Gardner-Johnson added. "I want people to know that I'm him. It ain't no more black-balling Ceedy, ain't no more bad-mouthing Ceedy. I'm in Bills Mafia now, and if you got something bad to say, you don't know me. You don't know me. I can see the fans and how they interact with me. I'm a Bill for life. I got four, five more years of this [expletive]. I may have signed a one-year deal, but [expletive], I'm here for four, five years. Spiritually, mentally, physically."

Ultimately, the Bills will have the final say on how long Gardner-Johnson stays in Buffalo, and it will hinge upon his performance on the field — not his confidence on Twitch.

The New Orleans Saints took Gardner-Johnson in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He remained in New Orleans for the first three seasons of his career before the Saints traded him to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022.

Gardner-Johnson led the NFL with six interceptions in 2022, but he declined an offer to stay with the Eagles and had to settle for a one-year contract with the Detroit Lions in March 2023. He tore his pectoral muscle in Week 2 of that season, limiting his Lions tenure to three games before returning to the Eagles for the 2024 season.

In 2024, Gardner-Johnson reeled in six interceptions again and was part of the dominant Eagles defense that stifled the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LIX. The Eagles dealt him to the Houston Texans in March 2025, and he played three games in Houston before the team released him. After a brief stint on the Ravens' practice squad, he finished last season with the Chicago Bears.
