Prior to the 2024 season at Georgia, Carson Beck was considered the top quarterback in the draft class. However, a rocky campaign, coupled with an injury in the SEC Championship Game, caused his stock to plummet.

He returned to college football, transferring to Miami, and led the Hurricanes to the national championship, where they fell heartbreakingly to Indiana.

Now at the NFL Draft Combine, Beck is aiming to boost his draft stock. He is currently ranked No. 99 overall on NFL Mock Draft’s database, which would likely place him in the third or fourth round if he goes around that spot.

Despite that, he still has time to boost his stock. On Friday, while speaking to the media, Beck was asked about one potential landing spot — the Cleveland Browns — and he had high praise for new head coach Todd Monken.

“I love him personally,” Beck said. “I’ve actually known him since I was 7 or 8 years old. I played baseball with his son when he was the wide receivers coach with the Jags. That’s cool. I’ve been able to have a really good relationship with him over the years, and obviously at Georgia, he taught me a lot of what I know. He’s an amazing coach. I had the opportunity to talk with him a little bit the other day after all my interviews. We walked and chatted for a bit. I love Coach Monk. He’s an awesome coach and a great guy.”

Beck added that he’d be “super stoked” to be drafted by the Browns in April.

“That would obviously be super cool,” he said. “Any team that drafts me, I’m super grateful for the opportunity. But if Coach Monken were my coach again, I really enjoyed him being my coach at Georgia and everything I was able to learn from him there. So, I’d be super stoked.”

Beck revealed that he has already had a formal meeting with the Browns during the combine this week and is expected to throw when the quarterbacks take the field on Saturday.
