Wide receiver D.J. Moore left the Chicago Bears' Week 6 road win against the Washington Commanders in visible pain after a hit in the first quarter.

The Bears later announced he was evaluated in the stadium medical tent and then transported to a local hospital, where he was kept overnight for observation.

After the game, Bears head coach Ben Johnson said Moore’s issue was related to the groin and they will take it "day by day." However, the receiver missed Wednesday’s walk‑through and was listed as a non‑participant in the team’s practice.

Despite the hospitalization, missed practice and speculation that he could miss more time, Moore was reported as a limited participant in the team's Thursday practice, igniting optimism that he could be ready to go for the Bears' Week 7 matchup against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Moore was selected 24th overall in the 2018 NFL draft out of Maryland and spent his first five seasons with the Carolina Panthers before joining the Bears in 2023.

He has gone for over 1,000 yards four times in his eight-year NFL career, including his first year in Chicago, in which he posted 1,364 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns across all 17 games.

Despite not having missed a single game in four seasons, Moore is at risk of missing the upcoming matchup with the Saints, though Thursday's report has provided some optimism that he could keep the ironman streak alive.

Through Week 6 of the 2025 season, Moore has 19 catches for 215 yards and one touchdown this year; his career totals stand at 577 receptions for 7,746 yards and 36 receiving touchdowns.

Chicago enters Week 7 at 3-2 and riding a three-game win streak that has added momentum to a franchise in transition under Johnson and QB Caleb Williams.

The Saints, by contrast, are struggling at 1-5, have given up 25-plus points in four of six games this season and are averaging a mere 18.5 points per game (fifth-worst in the NFL).

The Bears are already considered 4.5-point favorites, but if Moore plays, he immediately improves Chicago’s offensive ceiling.
