The Kansas City Chiefs had to anticipate some sort of blowback when the signing of kicker Justin Tucker was announced.
And for five straight minutes during his press conference on Wednesday, head coach Andy Reid had to stand and answer question after question about why the organization chose to sign a player who was accused of sexual misconduct by 16 Baltimore-area massage therapists regarding incidents that allegedly happened between 2012 and 2016.
Given the controversial nature of why Tucker hasn’t played in the NFL since 2024 (he served a 10-game suspension last season), one would assume Reid would’ve been better prepared for the onslaught of questions he got on Wednesday.

He didn’t, and now Reid is arguably the most-hated man on social media after some of his responses to questions he fielded from reporters about Tucker.
“What message do you think the signing of Justin Tucker to the practice squad sends now to female fans in the city?” a reporter asked.
“He’s done his suspension,” Reid stated. “Took care of business there. I’ll leave it at that for you.”
When asked what kind of homework he did before signing Tucker, Reid got even more testy.
“We tried to do our homework the best way we possibly can,” he scoffed. “We talked to a lot of people, make sure things are OK.
“… Listen, I’m not going to get into all that. To bring him in here, I did some homework. I’m not going to get into all that, but he’s here and he’s on the practice squad. So, we roll with it.”
Not only were Reid’s answers devoid of any sympathy or compassion for those irate that Tucker is getting another shot in the NFL, but he also gave about a semblance of smugness as he stood at the podium.

...
Fans were quick to put Reid on blast for his “insensitive” disposition about Tucker’s signing.
“This (is) the same man that signed a ‘fresh out of prison’ Mike Vick. Why is this surprising?” one fan replied.
“Not surprised that the guy who raised a drunk driver is now brushing off sexual assault,” another fan scoffed.
“He really said he don’t give a f- - -,” noted a third fan.
“Ahhhhh yes because serving a suspension magically dismisses the trauma he put 16 women through! C’mon Andy,” exclaimed one user.
“Just got a s- - - ton of new female Chiefs fans because of Taylor Swift only to throw all of them under the bus by signing a known sexual abuser to the team and then dismissing valid criticism of the move. I’m actually appalled,” another user sneered.
“This organization is genuinely evil. Wow,” remarked another user.
“I don’t think my fire Andy stance has ever been so firm. The front office has completely lost the plot,” one fan wrote.
“All I can say about Andy Reid and his love for excusing disgusting behavior is GROSS,” another fan added.
“Oh right because the suspension wiped his memory and cleared him of any wrongdoing. This is f- - -ed and they are putting women on that team in danger,” another user proclaimed.
