The Kansas City Chiefs are set to take on the New York Jets in Week 9, but they will be doing so without two of their key players on defense.

Woods suffered a neck stinger during the first half of the team's Week 8 matchup against the Denver Broncos. He has recorded 13 tackles, 0.5 sack and one pass defensed in seven games this season.

Meanwhile, Delane is now set to miss his second straight game since re-aggravating a shoulder injury that began in training camp.

Delane's absence will surely be felt much more than Woods, though. He has quickly established himself as one of the best up-and-coming defenders in the league, recording 27 tackles, five passes defensed and one interception through five games.

The Chiefs selected Delane with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft out of LSU, where he had 45 tackles, 11 passes defensed and two interceptions and was named a unanimous All-American and first-team All-SEC in 2025.

Woods, the No. 29 overall pick, played college football at Clemson, where he recorded 82 tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles and one pass defensed from 2023-25.
