The Dallas Cowboys choked horribly on Sunday by losing to the Arizona Cardinals.
At the end of the third quarter, the Cowboys held a 17-3 lead. The Cardinals then replaced starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett with backup Gardner Minshew, who then led Arizona to four consecutive touchdown drives to eventually tie up the game at 30-30. The Cowboys should never have let the Cardinals even get close to winning, let alone have them force overtime.
The Cardinals then won the game 33-30 thanks to a field goal scored on their second drive of OT. It was a loss that should've never happened for the Cowboys.

Understandably on Monday, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones was asked if the organization is considering making coaching changes after the embarrassing loss. Dallas fell to 3-5 on the season after Sunday. Surprisingly, though, Jones seems relatively confident with coach Brian Schottenheimer's abilities to better the team.
“I don’t think you fire somebody just to send a message," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. "If it’s something there that you make a change because it’ll make us better in the long haul then you certainly have to take a look at that. Jerry [Jones] can obviously speak for himself on that. I’m into making changes when it makes you better.”

Even if the Cowboys aren't considering parting ways with Schottenheimer at this point in the season, he will remain in the hot seat throughout the rest of the season regardless of how the Cowboys play.
Dallas has been itching for success for three decades now when they last won the Super Bowl in the 1995 season. Every coach who fails to deliver long-term success for the Cowboys seems to find their way out sooner or later thanks to owner Jerry Jones.
Schottenheimer's only in his second season in Dallas, but he's posted a losing record (10-14-1) during his time as head coach. He needs to get back in the winning category if he wants to consider his job safe in the future.
