The Dallas Cowboys secured victory over the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night, getting their 2026 season back on the right track.

After the game, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer took the microphone for a postgame press conference at Lincoln Financial Field. The press conference lasted just over four minutes as the Dallas HC gave terse responses to questions from the reporter pool.

Every other postgame press conference so far this season lasted somewhere around 10-15 minutes.

When speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Schottenheimer was asked if there was anything specific that was written or said about him to prompt his short tone with the media.

“No, I’ll be honest. I really do a good job of blocking you guys out," Schottenheimer replied, via team insider Jon Machota of The Athletic. "I think it was a big game for us. We’re motivated as a football team. I’m motivated as a head coach to get our guys playing to the standard that I know they’re capable of playing.

“Intense game against a real rival. But no, at the end of the day, in this business you get paid to deal with the criticism and things that come with the job and that never [plays a role]," he added. "Remember, you’re talking to a guy that grew up for 25 years in a household with a head coach in the NFL.

“So, no, it was more just my focus was getting the team to be focused and motivated. And I think you saw that [Monday] night, so I’m proud of our group.”
