The Dallas Cowboys have been hard at work this offseason filling holes in their roster and clearing the way for their NFL Draft decision to become easier.
As a result, all signs point to Dallas focusing on offensive skill position players, particularly pass catchers to help quarterback Dak Prescott.
On Monday, FOX Sports NFL Draft analyst Rob Rang further pushed that sentiment, naming star Missouri wide receiver and "RAC monster" Luther Burden III as the best first for Dallas on April 24.

"New head coach Brian Schottenheimer and first-year offensive coordinator Klayton Adams are known proponents of a physical running game, and it would be easy to plug in a star back here. The Texas native Ashton Jeanty would look awfully good with a star on his helmet, for example. But adding a RAC monster like Burden might impact Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb even quicker, while complementing the free-agent signings of veteran runners Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders."
Dallas is certainly in the market for help on the outside to pair with CeeDee Lamb. Last season, Lamb was the only reliable playmaker for Prescott in the passing game and was constantly the focus of opposing defenses and their game plans. He was also the only player with double-digit catches of over 20 yards.
Despite that, Lamb still caught 101 passes for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns, earning a Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro nods.
Outside of Lamb, however, Dallas largely struggled with its passing attack, as Jalen Tolbert and—to a lesser extent—tight end Jake Ferguson were its only other viable receiving options on a weekly basis.
If the Cowboys do indeed pick Burder, that could change immediately. Over the last two seasons, Burdern did it all, catching nearly 150 passes for more than 1,800 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also rushed for two more scores.
His production did dip from his sophomore to his junior season, but even then, opposing head coaches felt he could be a star at the next level.
"We always try to make the best comparisons we can think of, and the best one we could think of was Deebo Samuel when he was at South Carolina," Texas A&M Aggies coach Mike Elko said before his team played Missouri last season. "I think Luther is maybe even more of an advanced pass-catcher at this point in his career."
Suffice it to say, if the Cowboys can add a Deebo Samuel-type to their offense, and help take some pressure off of CeeDee Lamb in the passing game, that could go a long way in improving their offense in 2025.
