For the first time in his broadcasting career, Tom Brady will call a New England Patriots game at Gillette Stadium.

Brady returns to Foxborough to work Sunday's matchup between the Patriots and Green Bay Packers for Fox. The legendary quarterback heads back to his original team as they induct longtime teammate Rob Gronkowski into their Hall of Fame.

Speaking to reporters Wednesday, Drake Maye called it "obviously cool" to see Brady return to New England for the Week 9 clash.

"It's definitely cool for him, I bet, for him to come back and call a game in the stadium where he won so many games and was elite in this stadium," Maye said, per MassLive's Mark Daniels. "You know, him and the fans and their teams built Gillette to what it is now, so I bet it's cool for him."

However, Maye won't get much of a chance to interact with the franchise icon. As a Las Vegas Raiders minority owner, Brady has restricted access to team facilities and meetings.

"It really doesn't affect me much," Maye said. "You talk to him, and I'm not even allowed to talk to him in production meetings because he's with the Raiders. But it's always cool to see. ... I appreciate him for what he left here, and that's really about it."

Meanwhile, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel didn't sound overly excited about reuniting with his former teammate.

"I'm required contractually to catch up with him at some point," Vrabel said Wednesday, per CLNS Media. "I'm sure it'll be a Zoom. I'm sure they won't show up here. Yep, there you go. So, yep, contractually I'll be talking to him, and I'm sure I'll see him at Gronk's induction on Saturday."

Brady told Fox Sports colleague Colin Cowherd that he's "very excited" to return to New England.

"It'll be certainly emotional,” Brady said on "The Herd." “I mean, every inch of that stadium I've been through so many times, from the locker rooms to the meeting rooms, the fields. I had just so many memorable plays in that stadium. Big games, you know, championship games and rivalry games, you know, division-clinching games. So to be back there and to really understand what that Patriot organization is all about, and to convey that to the fans in a way where I'm not like talking about myself. I'm really talking about this awesome program that's been built, and the Patriots just always seem to do things the right way."
