The Philadelphia Eagles finished the 2025 regular season atop the NFC East with an 11–6 record, but produced middling offensive numbers compared to their recent championship year, averaging just 311.2 total yards per game (24th in the NFL) and 22.3 points per game (19th).
Defensively, however, Philadelphia remained strong, ranking eighth against the pass (189.8 yards allowed per game) and fifth in scoring defense (19.1 points allowed per game).
Despite the defense largely holding its ground, the Eagles’ overall team metrics reflected a clear step back from their Super Bowl-winning season.

That decline became evident on Wild Card weekend, when Philadelphia was eliminated by the San Francisco 49ers in a 23–19 loss marked by offensive stagnation in the second half.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts finished with 168 passing yards and one touchdown on 20-of-35 passing, and the Eagles managed just 36 total yards in the third quarter, a stretch that ultimately stymied their ability to mount a late response.
In the wake of the loss, the Eagles began overhauling their coaching staff, most notably moving on from first-year offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo.
On Wednesday, another potential departure surfaced, as reports indicated the Dallas Cowboys formally requested permission to interview Eagles defensive backs coach and pass-game coordinator Christian Parker for their vacant defensive coordinator position.
Shortly after the report surfaced, Eagles fans flooded social media with calls for the organization to block the interview request.
"Request DENIED tf," said one fan.
"Hell no. Request denied," another user responded
"Hopefully Lurie tell Jerry to shove it," one other fan commented.
"NO I WANT HIM TO STAY!!!" another user replied.
"That is definitely getting denied instantly," said one other fan.
"Would love to see it denied but can’t hold Parker back. Seems to be an outstanding dude. If he wants to stay that would be great. If he wants to become a DC and leave, that would suck for the Birds but can’t hold him hostage," another user remarked.

Parker, 34 (born Dec. 23, 1991), rose through college staff roles before entering the NFL in 2019 as a defensive quality-control coach with the Green Bay Packers.
He later served as defensive backs coach with the Denver Broncos from 2021 to 2023 and was hired by the Eagles as defensive backs coach and passing-game coordinator in February 2024, working under veteran defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.
Prior to his NFL tenure, Parker held defensive backs coach or defensive analyst roles at Virginia State (2013–14), Norfolk State (2015–16), Notre Dame (2017), and Texas A&M (2018).
Over the course of his coaching career, Parker has built a reputation for secondary development and schematic fluency in modern two-high and coverage-based defensive systems, qualities that have positioned him as a legitimate candidate for an NFL defensive coordinator role.
