The New York Giants were able to defeat the Houston Texans 27-21 in overtime in Week 7, thanks to a 42-yard run by Cam Skattebo, which helped set up Devin Singletary’s game-winning touchdown. Unfortunately, Skattebo revealed he may have suffered an injury on his final play of the game.
Skattebo slid just before being caught by a pair of Texans defenders, but he shared he wasn’t sliding on purpose and that he felt something in his hamstring, according to NFL insider Dan Graziano of ESPN.
“Good thing we have a bye week,” Skattebo said after the game.

Skattebo had been in the Giants doghouse just a week ago after struggling with turnovers to begin the season. However, he finally looked like the reliable running back that he was for much of his rookie season on Sunday, rushing for 124 yards and a touchdown.
So, Skattebo's possible injury will certainly be worth monitoring as the Giants head into their bye week.

If Skattebo were to have to miss time past the Giants bye week, the team would likely rely on fellow running backs Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary, who combined for another 56 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Texans.
A fourth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Skattebo has rushed for 704 yards and six touchdowns in his professional career.
