The Denver Broncos are catching fire at the right time.
They've now won three straight after knocking off the Cardinals 30-16 in Arizona last weekend. Bo Nix delivered his best game of the season, throwing for 222 yards and one touchdown, along with an electric 62-yard rushing score, while second-year running back RJ Harvey also broke free for a 52-yard receiving touchdown.
The win moved the Broncos up to 5-2 on the year, one game behind the division-leading Kansas City Chiefs, who are 5-1 entering Week 8. The two AFC West rivals are set to face off at Mile High on Sunday.

However, the Broncos might have to do it without their top wide receiver, Jaylen Waddle, who aggravated a previous chest injury late in the Arizona game. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, his availability for Sunday's matchup against Kansas City will depend on how he progresses through practice this week.

Waddle's injury occurred with less than five minutes left in the Cardinals game. During a reverse play, he fumbled a pitch from Nix and dove to recover the ball as Arizona's Josh Sweat landed on top of him. Waddle went to the locker room and didn't return, finishing the game with four catches for 48 yards on seven targets.
The biggest concern is that this is an aggravation of the chest issue that bothered him during the previous week. Waddle was previously limited in Wednesday and Thursday practices last week before returning to full participation on Friday. Although he played through the injury against Arizona, the latest setback has made his status for Kansas City uncertain.

If Waddle misses the Chiefs game, Denver would lose their most explosive pass catcher. He already has 276 yards and one touchdown on 26 catches through seven games this season, including a 138-yard breakout game against the Jaguars in Week 2. His speed gives the Broncos another way to stretch defenses, and not having him would be a massive blow.
The stakes are significant for Sunday's game. Kansas City already beat the Broncos in Week 1 by a score of 31-10, and another win would put the Chiefs firmly in the lead for the division title. If Denver can squeak out a win, though, it would keep their winning streak alive and open the door for them to take control of the AFC West.
