Cincinnati Bengals Joe Burrow is having one of the lowest weeks of his career in the NFL, and it only got worse on Friday with even more bad news.

On his birthday earlier this week, Burrow took questions from reporters and prompted buzz about his NFL future. He talked through the pain he has endured this year and said that if he can’t find the “fun” in the game again, he has to question why he is even playing for the Bengals.

At 4-9 and all but eliminated from the postseason, the Bengals play the Baltimore Ravens this weekend, which could be the death knell on Cincy’s season.

It has been a tragic few weeks for Higgins, who had a concussion in Week 13 and couldn’t play. Then, after being greenlit to come back last weekend versus the Buffalo Bills, Higgins was hammered multiple times into the ground and visibly shaken. After being checked out and allowed back into the game, Higgins continued taking a beating in the icy, frozen conditions.

For the Bengals, this is par for the course this season. After hoping that they could return to their 2021 glory and make a run back to the Super Bowl, Burrow suffered a turf toe injury in Week 2, which derailed any plans of them competing for a championship this season. Although Burrow’s return has created a bit of a spark, the team’s deplorable defense has kept the Bengals from success even when their offense is in peak form.

Burrow, without one of his best targets, will hope to play spoiler at least this Sunday as the 6-7 Baltimore Ravens travel to Cincinnati in a game that could decide the AFC North.
