It was a tale of two halves.

There is no other way to explain it: The Cincinnati Bengals are seriously on one. And quarterback Joe Burrow is leading the charge with four touchdowns in the second half of Cincinnati’s 35-13 win over the Baltimore Ravens after trailing 0-13 was some concrete proof of Burrow’s magic.

“I think I played really well,” Burrow said following the win, according to Sports Illustrated. “The first half was what it was, and obviously would have liked to have some of those back, but we didn’t turn the ball over. That played a big part, and the second half I think I was pretty lights out. Yeah, I’ll watch the tape and ask me again on Wednesday, but I think for the most part I was pretty good.”

But there was something else that drove the team during those last two quarters: Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

Chase gave an impassioned locker room speech after the Bengals’ sleepy first half. And boy, did it rile up everyone – including Burrow.

When asked by CBS Sports following the win the difference between the two halves, Burrow credited his WR’s words.

“Ja’Marr went in there, got after everybody a little bit and got everyone fired up,” Burrow said. “That certainly plays a part but at the end of the day, we just executed.”

It certainly set a fire under offensive tackle Amarius Mims’ rear as well.

“Really fired us up, man,” Mims said to Fox, SI reported. “I saw it in his eyes, man. We’re not gonna leave here without going in. And I’ve always said when One talks and he gets that fire in front of him, everybody needs to shut up and listen. Because as I said, he is not only the best receiver in the NFL, but probably one of the best players in the NFL, in my opinion.”

Chase ended the game with five catches for 62 yards and a touchdown.
