Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow kept his expectations high Friday in Madrid, days after throwing five touchdown passes and three interceptions in an overtime win over Tennessee.
The Bengals (5-2) have won three straight games entering Sunday’s matchup with the Atlanta Falcons at Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid. Burrow made his assessment in Spain after Cincinnati needed overtime to beat Tennessee 43-36 last weekend.
“We have the capability to do it,” Burrow said, “but right now we aren't there.”

Burrow has completed 195 of 267 passes for 2,115 yards, 20 touchdowns and six interceptions this season. He is completing 73% of his throws with a 111.6 passer rating.
Against Tennessee, he threw for 462 yards and five touchdowns but also had three passes intercepted. He completed 38 of 48 attempts before scoring the winning touchdown on a nine-yard scramble in overtime.
Wide receiver Tee Higgins caught 10 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns, while wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase added 11 catches for 141 yards and a score.
Cincinnati drove 70 yards in five plays for Burrow’s overtime touchdown. Its defense then forced an incompletion on fourth-and-three to end the game.
The winning streak followed consecutive losses to Pittsburgh and Jacksonville. Cincinnati beat Miami 31-24 and Baltimore 35-13 before the overtime victory against Tennessee.
After facing Atlanta, the Bengals host Pittsburgh on Nov. 15. The Steelers won the first meeting 30-27 in September, giving Cincinnati a divisional rematch immediately after its trip to Spain.
