The firing of Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott surprised a lot of people in the football world.

But there was possibly no one more angered at the removal of the longtime Bills head coach than Jon Gruden, who let it rip on "Wake Up Barstool" following the announcement that the team had dismissed McDermott.

"That makes me sick, that makes me absolutely sick," Gruden said when the news was broken to him live on-air by Barstool Sports personality and former LSU lineman T-Bob Hebert. "I have no idea what the hell is going on in this league. They've fired 10 head coaches this year. Good luck to Buffalo, and now I'm really glad they lost the game."

The Bills lost a heartbreaker to the Denver Broncos on Saturday in the divisional round, with a controversial interception turning the tide. It got even worse following the game, when the Broncos announced that their starting quarterback, Bo Nix, was done for the season with a broken ankle.

Although they didn't fire McDermott directly after the game, the upper brass relieved him of his duties at the beginning of the week. Allegedly, the executives weren't aligned with what McDermott believed were the issues on the roster, and wanted to go in a different direction behind the reigning MVP, Josh Allen.

Gruden, a former Super Bowl-winning head coach, has been rumored to be in talks of coming out of media retirement to take one of the several jobs still on the table in the NFL.

The former Buccaneers and Raiders frontman seems to be committed to his job at Barstool Sports, however, as he is setting up for his annual "QB Class," where he interviews some of the top signal-callers entering the NFL Draft.

"I don’t think you can do much better than Sean McDermott," Gruden went on. "I mean, hell, their whole defense was beat up the whole year. … For them to fire Sean McDermott after a season like this, I can't say I'm surprised from what I've seen…This one really hits me hard."
