It’s not too often that NFL insider Ian Rapoport is wrong since he’s known for being one of the most trustworthy reporters in sports today. But when he is, and he gets called out loud in the moment, it can be either cringe-worthy, or just plain funny.

Which is something that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson noted after catching a rare faux pas by the analyst on Friday.

“I think it was reported (that) this isn’t a high ankle sprain and it’s not a low ankle sprain, is it the deltoid medial sprain if you’re correct?” a reporter asked Jackson about his injury.

“I thought it was a high ankle sprain?” Jackson said. “Who said that?”

The reporter answered “Rapoport.”

“Rapoport said that? You part of the training staff?” Jackson joked. “So we can’t go off Ian Rapoport, you know, he’s just reporting. Somebody probably told him that too, though, so can’t blame him. But nah man, my staff told me it was a high ankle sprain so we’re going with what Adrian (Dixon, athletic trainer) told me. I’m not going with Ian. I’m just being honest.”

Jackson is currently listed as questionable for Baltimore’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. He’s had a week of limited practices after being sidelined for the past two games.

Jackson also noted that he’s not exactly at full strength yet, but he wants to play through the pain, Yahoo Sports reported.

“I don’t have a number, but I don’t feel like I have to be 100,” he said. “If I can just be out there and tolerate the pain in my ankle, (then) that’s it. If I can just go out there and feel the pain a little bit, I can play. But (if) I’m restricted and I can’t do what I do, (then) I’m not helping.”
