Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers won a massive non-conference showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles, escaping with a 22-19 overtime victory to move to 9-4 on the season.
Herbert's stats weren't all that impressive as he completed just 46% of his passes for a meager 139 yards. However, he added a team-leading 66 yards on the ground and picked up three first downs with rushing attempts as the Chargers found a way to take down the defending Super Bowl champions - just a few days after he underwent surgery on his non-throwing wrist.
"There are so many guys in that locker room that are fighting through so many different injuries and things worse than what I'm going through," Herbert said after the game. "So, it's the least I can do to show up and give my best effort for them."

Herbert's antics after the game, though, was the main talking point regarding the game. After the overtime victory, ESPN's Laura Rutledge attempted to interview Herbert on the field to talk about the win.
The star quarterback was less than thrilled about the idea and attempted to evade Rutledge while suggesting he only wanted to go celebrate with his teammates. Video of the awkward incident quickly went viral on social media and eventually led to a comment from the reporter herself.
"Rough day at the office, let’s all have a good laugh and move on!" she said on social media in the caption of a video showing spoofs of the awkward interaction.
Rutledge is clearly ready to move on following the awkward exchange, which led to reporters coming to her defense on social media.
