Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was fined $11,492 for an unauthorized message written on his eye black during Sunday's Week 1 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
Al-Shaair wrote the name Hind Rajab on his eye black, recognizing the five-year-old Palestinian girl who was killed by Israeli military forces in Gaza City on Jan. 29, 2024. The NFL issued Al-Shaair a similar fine in January when he wrote "stop the genocide" on his eye black.
In response to the news of Al-Shaair's latest NFL punishment, Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving publicly vowed to pay the fine.

"I’ll take care of his fine," Irving wrote on social media.
Al-Shaair delivered a public statement following his first fine in January.
“At the end of the day, it’s bigger than me,” Al-Shaair said, via The Athletic. “The things that are going on make people uncomfortable, [so] imagine how those people feel. I have no affiliation or connection to these people other than the fact that I’m a human being. If you have a heart and you’re a human being, then you can see what’s going on in the world.
“When I’m walking off this field, that’s the type of stuff that I’m thinking about that I have to check myself when I’m sitting here crying about football when there’s people dying every single day.”
