After dealing with a high ankle sprain he suffered in Week 1, New England Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown returned to the field for Week 6 and 7.
However, he missed the Patriots' Week 8 matchup versus the Miami Dolphins on Sunday because of a knee issue that just popped up on the injury report last week.
So, where does Brown stand for Week 9? The Patriots will face the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Patriots coach Mike Vrabel spoke to reporters on Monday and shared where Brown sits at this point.
“We’ll see how he progresses during the week. He’s getting treatment here,” Vrabel said, via Mass Live. “We’ll see Wednesday what those guys that were unavailable for the game, and what they look like and whatever came up during the game.”
It sounds like fans won't know Brown's status for Sunday until at least midway through the week.

When speaking on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show" on Monday, Vrabel was asked if the team brought Brown back too quickly when recovering from his ankle sprain. He played one game on Sunday in Week 6 and then competed in a second game a few days later on Thursday. Then, his knee issue popped up the following week. Vrabel didn't address the question specifically.
“A.J. wasn’t available yesterday. He didn’t travel with us," Vrabel said. "So, we’ll see where he is today. I’m looking forward to going over there and seeing him in treatment.”
Vrabel previously said that the ankle and knee injuries were "separate issues." Hopefully the Patriots are more forthcoming about Brown's injuries this week as the team was a bit cryptic last week about it.
Even in the three games Brown did play in, he didn't see many passes thrown to him. He's caught just three passes in each contest for a total of 101 yards.
