Los Angeles Rams defensive end Myles Garrett made his long-awaited return on Sunday against the Washington Commanders.
Garrett had been out since Week 1 when he underwent knee surgery to put him on the injured reserve list.
Garrett returned to the field a lot quicker than the Rams originally expected. The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year's 21-day practice window was just opened on Monday, and Rams coach Sean McVay didn't originally sound too optimistic that Garrett would play on Sunday. But, his practices looked good enough throughout the week for Garrett to play.

And, it looked like Garrett missed no time. The DPOY competed at the same impressive level that NFL fans are used to seeing, because of course he did.

Garrett recorded a whopping three sacks in Sunday's game. The first one came in the second quarter as he sacked Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels for a loss of six yards. Garrett also forced a fumble on the tackle, with his Rams teammate Omar Speights recovering the ball for Los Angeles.
Garrett sacked Daniels again with about 11 minutes left of the game, this time for a loss of five yards.
The Rams star logged his third sack of the game with 2:31 left of the game, forcing a loss of 12 yards. This was a nail in the coffin moment for the Rams as Daniels threw an incompletion on the fourth down to end the drive.
It's very safe to say that Garrett is back. Hopefully he can remain at this level as the 2026 season continues in the second half. The Rams have got to be beyond ecstatic to have Garrett, who they acquired in a trade during the offseason, back.
