The NFL has fined Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London for his penalty against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

On Saturday, the league announced that it had fined London $12,537 for an unnecessary roughness penalty. The NFL described the penalty as "striking/kicking/kneeling."

The penalty occurred as London was attempting to catch a pass from quarterback Michael Penix Jr. The pass was intercepted, but the Falcons quickly got the ball back when the Buccaneers fumbled a couple of plays later.

London had a game to forget, catching one pass for eight yards on six targets. But it was also a brutal day for the Falcons, losing to Tampa Bay 16-0.

In the loss, Penix threw four interceptions, and three of those picks came in the first half. The Falcons' defense also struggled, allowing 322 rushing yards.

Drake London Says Falcons Are Trying to Fix Issues

Now, the Falcons are getting ready to face the Cincinnati Bengals in Madrid, Spain. London shared how the Falcons are bouncing back after a tough loss.

"Everything that we are watching, the main things (coaches) will say is, 'This may hurt your feelings, but it's the God honest truth,'" London said, per Tori McElhaney of AtlantaFalcons.com. "That's what needs to be said for us to get better as a team. So, no hard feelings, but we looked at it in an honest way, and we pushed past it, and we're trying to fix it."

Through eight games this year, London has caught 39 passes for 624 yards and one touchdown. The Falcons are currently 3-5 and half a game behind the Carolina Panthers for the NFC South lead.
