The New York Giants look to get their first win of the season as they take on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2 on Sunday.
They really struggled on offense in Week 1, as they finished with only 242 yards of offense and six points in the 21-6 loss to the Washington Commanders.
Quarterback Russell Wilson really struggled finding his receivers, as he finished 17-of-37 for 168 yards. Fans have been clamoring for rookie Jaxson Dart, who the team took in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The team has been consistent that it is going to take its time with Dart, and not just throw him out there when he isn't ready. While he won't be the starter against the Cowboys, the team could be getting closer to playing him as they announced Jameis Winston would be inactive on Sunday.
With the team making Winston inactive, that means that Dart is the unquestioned No. 2 guy in New York. That means if Wilson struggles again or needs to be taken out of the game, Dart will be the next guy up.
Brian Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka have been consistent with the approach they are taking with Dart because they both have experience when it comes to dealing with rookie quarterbacks.
Kafka was the quarterbacks coach in Kansas City when Patrick Mahomes was a rookie, a season that Mahomes sat out the entire year except a regular season finale that most of the Chiefs starters sat out. They let Mahomes learn under a professional like Alex Smith, who Mahomes credits a ton for helping him get to where he is.
Daboll was the offensive coordinator in Buffalo with Josh Allen, and Allen had a tough first year in Buffalo. He played in 12 games, throwing for 2,074 yards, 10 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing just 52.8% of his passes.
There have been countless times in the NFL where a rookie quarterback has been thrown into the starting spot to early, and it has ruined his career. Dart is clearly the guy of the future, but the Giants are making sure they stick to their plan and not let outside influences dictate their decision.
After Sunday's game, the Giants will play five of their next six games against teams that made the playoffs last year. Throwing Dart in at that point with the struggles offensive line could do far more bad for the rookie than good.
The Giants are saying all the right things now, but if Wilson goes out and has another game like he did in Week 1, the calls for Dart could be getting much louder quickly.
