Despite a disappointing 1-2 start to the season, the New England Patriots have a chance to get back on track in Week 4 with a promising matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

In his three seasons in the NFL, Bryce Young is 1-14 on the road, which is good for a New England team that has lost multiple close games this season already. Though the Patriots have not had the best start to the season, second-year quarterback Drake Maye appears to have taken the step forward in his development fans were hoping for this offseason.

Through three games, Maye ranks sixth in the league in passing yards with 785 and is completing 72.6% of his passes. The 23-year-old quarterback has thrown five touchdowns with only two interceptions, adding another touchdown on the ground.

With how well Maye is playing, ESPN NFL analyst Seth Walder predicts that Maye will eclipse 300 passing yards for the first time in his young career in Week 4 against the Panthers.

"Patriots QB Drake Maye will throw for 300 or more yards for the first time in his career," Walder wrote on Friday. "No team has a larger difference between its EPA per dropback and EPA per designed carry in favor of the passing game than New England. So why not let Maye air it out all day?"

The Patriots' passing game has been a major factor that has kept them in games in the first three weeks of the season. After a game where the Patriots lost four fumbles on the ground, perhaps they will unleash Maye in Week 4 against a struggling Panthers team.
