Last year, no one beat the Philadelphia Eagles.
The team marched to the Super Bowl and then blew out the Kansas City Chiefs in a shellacking, hoisting the Lombardi Trophy after little resistance in the postseason.
This season, however, it's not so simple.

The Eagles fans were appeased when offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo was relieved of his duties following a rough year, and the former champions set out to replace him with their top candidate: Mike McDaniel, the former head coach of the Miami Dolphins.
Although McDaniel struggled in his last two years in South Beach, he ended his tenure with a winning regular-season record and remains renowned for his offensive genius. If Nick Sirianni and the brain trust of the Eagles could land him, their stagnant offense could have been a thing of the past.
But on Tuesday night, those hopes were dashed, as the Eagles lost a proverbial game off the field.
The Los Angeles Chargers brought McDaniel to Southern California to court him, and it's now reported that the former Miami leadman is telling teams around the league he is not leaving the City of Angels.
A year ago, being the OC for the Eagles with Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, Brown, and an impressive offensive line would have been the top job in the NFL for a coordinator. Now, they've lost out to the Chargers, with McDaniel wanting to work with and elevate Justin Herbert into a playoff-winning QB.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also saw McDaniel as a frontrunner for their OC position, but, like the Eagles, they will now need to pivot to second- or possibly third-tier options.
In the Eagles' final three regular-season games, they averaged only 16.3 points per game, 26th in the NFL. Against the Niners, it was not much better, only mustering 19 points in their defense of the championship they won last year by dropping 40 on the Chiefs.
