While Philadelphia Eagles fans hold their collective breath over the status of a potential A.J. Brown trade, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman locked in another of the team's stars.
The Eagles and defensive tackle Jordan Davis agreed to a three-year extension worth $78 million with $65 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The deal will make Davis, 26, the highest-paid nose tackle in NFL history.
Philadelphia selected Davis out of Georgia at No. 13 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. Last April, the Eagles picked up Davis' fifth-year option, which would have paid out $12.938 million next season. Instead, the Eagles rewarded Davis early.

Since 2023, Davis has not missed a game for the Eagles. His 2024 campaign will always be remembered for his performance in Philadelphia's blowout Super Bowl LIX win — he had one of the team's six sacks of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes — but 2025 was by far his best overall season.
Davis recorded career highs in sacks (4.5), passes defended (6), tackles for loss (9), quarterback hits (6), and solo tackles (34) across 17 regular-season games for the then-defending Super Bowl champions. His best-known play came on special teams, though. In Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams, Davis blocked what would have been the Rams' game-winning field goal and returned it for a 61-yard touchdown.
The Eagles will look to bounce back in 2026. While Davis and the Eagles' passing defense were plenty good enough to help the Eagles become back-to-back champions, the Eagles' offense under since-fired coordinator Kevin Patullo never found its footing. The result was a 23-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card round.
Roseman's annual aggressive roster retooling kicks off with re-signing Davis. The NFL's new league year and free agency period officially begin on March 11 at 4 p.m. EST, and the 2026 NFL Draft will start on April 23.
