The Los Angeles Rams have struggled to stay healthy all season, and it seems they have been hit with the injury bug once again.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, Rams starting cornerback Jaylen Watson needs shoulder surgery that will end his 2026 season.

Watson, 28, originally dislocated his right shoulder in Week 3, which caused him to miss one game. However, he re-aggravated it in the third quarter of Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Chargers and was forced to leave the game.
It's certainly another brutal blow to Los Angeles' defense, especially because Watson just joined the Rams in March on a three-year, $51 million contract to pair with Trent McDuffie in their secondary and he has been playing quite well this year, registering 24 tackles, an already career-high nine passes defensed and one interception in seven games.
Now, the team will have to rely on fellow cornerbacks Josh Wallace, Emmanuel Forbes Jr. and Cam Lampkin or acquire another outside option by the NFL's trade deadline next week to make up for Watson's absence.

Watson began his professional career as a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. He was the 36th cornerback drafted and quickly proved the Chiefs right for taking a chance on him.
Over his first four seasons, Watson recorded 178 tackles, four sacks, 24 passes defensed, three interceptions and one touchdown while helping Kansas City hoist two Vince Lombardi trophies.
Watson played college football at Ventura (2017-18) and Washington State, where he had 44 tackles, one forced fumble, five passes defensed and two interceptions from 2021-22.
