The Ravens confirmed the trade on Friday, with the deal involving a 2027 fourth-round pick and a 2028 seventh-round pick going to Arizona. Baltimore also received a 2027 fifth-round selection.

Reed had only recently joined the 53-man roster after Baltimore suffered a series of injuries at quarterback. He spent part of training camp and the preseason with the Ravens before returning to the team earlier this week.

His departure makes room for the latest changes in a quarterback room that has been under considerable pressure.

Baltimore's problems began when Lamar Jackson injured his right thumb on the opening offensive play against the Buffalo Bills. He was subsequently placed on injured reserve and is expected to undergo surgery.

Backup Tyler Huntley also suffered a toe injury against Buffalo and landed on injured reserve. His injury is reportedly season-ending, leaving the Ravens without their top two quarterbacks.

Rookie Joe Fagnano was forced into action and subsequently made his first NFL start against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, he struggled, completing 10 of 18 passes for 60 yards with two interceptions in a 33-10 defeat.

The Ravens have now lost four consecutive games and have struggled to score consistently. They have been held below 14 points in four straight contests, a first in franchise history.
