Another day, another dollar going to the “Stop That” jar. This time, It’s Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith having to empty the jar for two specific moves he pulled (literally) in Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
One of which drew criticism from Bills coach Joe Brady.
The one move occurred when Bills quarterback Josh Allen crossed the goal line in the first quarter and Smith twisted his facemark during the tackle. Brady said it was “not something you want to see in football.” Smith was fined $17,911 for the facemask yanking.

He was also slammed with another $17,911 fine for hitting Bills’ wide receiver DJ Moore, who was defenseless, during the first quarter.
Baltimore is dealing with a plethora of losses, including their 36-10 loss to the Bills, and their most recent dismal soul-crushing 33-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday. This is mostly due to their lack of quarterback options with both Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley unavailable while Joe Fagnano takes the reins by putting the heaviest loads on running back Derrick Henry in the wildcat formation, which they took against the Jags.
Interesting idea in theory, not in practice.
Fagnano isn’t making excuses for his lack of preparation time since the other two quarterbacks went down.
“I think anytime you have a quick turnaround, it poses its own challenges, but I’m not here to sit up here and make excuses,” the young QB said. “They were on a short week as well. Credit to the Jaguars – they played well.”
