The Seahawks defeated the Rams on Sunday to clinch their fourth-ever Super Bowl appearance, 31-27. It was the third and final matchup of the season between these two bitter NFC West rivals, and once again, Seattle came out on top in front of their home crowd.

Kupp did his part against his former team. In the contest, Kupp recorded four receptions on six targets for 36 yards and a touchdown. The 32-year-old came up big for his team, recording the last touchdown of the game for his team in the third quarter to give the Seahawks an 11-point lead at the time.

Kupp delivered in what was a 13-yard touchdown reception that ultimately put Seattle over the edge.

Did the Rams Make the Right Call Moving On From Cooper Kupp?

The breakup between the Rams and Kupp ended in a less-than-ideal way. Los Angeles released Kupp last March, as it had become increasingly clear that the two sides were headed for a separation. His production was no longer at the level it once was, particularly compared to his 2021 All-Pro, Super Bowl MVP campaign.

The writing was on the wall, and the Rams — true to form — made the difficult decision to move on, prioritizing football decisions over emotion. The Los Angeles brass does that better than anybody, and while Kupp understood the move, it doesn't mean he was okay with it.

Back in March, during his introductory press conference, he was blunt, saying point-blank that the situation was "difficult."

The Rams cut ties with Kupp for what was a more considerable upgrade in adding Davante Adams via free agency. That move proved to be a smart one by L.A. as Adams led the league in touchdown receptions with 14 and was a great fit along with Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua, becoming the No. 1 total offense in the league.

Still, that didn't prove to be enough as they fell to Seattle when it mattered most.

Now, Kupp has a chance to win his second Super Bowl, while the Rams will look to regroup for the 2026 season.
