In what could have been his last game at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City Chiefs legend Travis Kelce exited the field, but not before passing a message to the next generation of the AFC West.

After losing a heartbreaking game to the Denver Broncos in the final seconds of the game, Kelce met with Broncos sophomore quarterback Bo Nix at the center of the field to give him an embrace and words of encouragement heading into the postseason.

“Go get you one, man,” Kelce told Nix in his final words before the two went their separate ways.

For Kelce, it’s the end of an era, after having made it to the Super Bowl five times over the past decade and having played in the past three-straight, winning two. After not missing the playoffs since his second season in the NFL, Kelce will not be playing in the playoffs in what could be his final year before retirement.

Nix is on the other side of his career, having bounced around at Auburn before making a name for himself at Oregon before being drafted by Denver in the first-round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

While some pundits believed the Broncos reached for Nix, he’s quieted a majority of his critics, helping the Broncos make the playoffs last season and now competing for the No. 1 seed in his second year.

In a way, it was a passing of the torch moment between one of the leaders of the Chiefs and the face of this new Denver Broncos era. The Chiefs had won nine straight AFC West crowns before Nix and the Broncos usurped them this year, beating Kansas City in both games they played against each other in 2025.

The Broncos will end their regular season at home against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Kelce, in what could be his swan song, will be traveling to Las Vegas to take on the Raiders.
